Police intelligence operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad 2 in Lagos State have apprehended a 22-year-old suspected internet scammer, Nelson Ozor, who allegedly posed as a woman to defraud a prominent Nigerian footballer of millions of Naira.

According to P.M.EXPRESS, Ozor was arrested at his residence on 1B James Street near Zone 2 Gate in the Abule Ado area of Lagos. In custody, he admitted to using the alias Jasmine Abriana1 on Instagram, where he lured the footballer into exchanging nude photographs.

After receiving the photos, Ozor reportedly began to blackmail the footballer, threatening to publicly expose the images on social media. As a result, the footballer began paying him, totaling around £2,000, before the situation escalated to the point of police involvement.

Police sources confirmed that the footballer eventually reported the extortion to the Commissioner of Police, prompting an investigation by the Special Squad. Ozor was tracked down and arrested at his home along with two accomplices. He has since confessed to his actions during interrogation.

Ozor is currently providing the police with information about his activities over the past few years, detailing how he transitioned from working as a mechanic in Enugu State to engaging in fraudulent schemes in Lagos. Attempts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful, as he did not answer his phone.
