Inmate Jebea Johnson Accused of Orchestrating Gang-Related Murder

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Jebea Johnson, a 22-year-old inmate at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility in Bunnell, is accused of orchestrating a gang-related murder while incarcerated.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) reported that on November 15, detectives became aware of suspicious phone calls made by Johnson from the detention facility. During these calls, Johnson allegedly discussed gang activities and instructed a relative to use social media to arrange a hit on a victim who wanted to leave the gang.

FCSO stated that after reviewing the phone calls, detectives confirmed Johnson used specific gang terminology while ordering the murder. Additional interviews revealed that Johnson had tried to recruit the victim into the Kutt Throat Committee, a notorious prison and street gang, while both were inmates.

According to the FCSO, several individuals interviewed during the investigation admitted to sending messages on Johnson’s behalf but claimed they did not fully understand the coded language involved in the orders.

Johnson has been in custody since June 2024, when he turned himself in for a range of charges, including attempted robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, burglary, aggravated battery, and aggravated assault.

The FCSO confirmed that Johnson was being held without bond due to his previous arrest and violent offenses on June 21.
