The Crime Branch of Indore police arrested four individuals on Sunday in connection with a major drug trafficking operation. The arrested suspects, Golu alias Adil Khan (20) from Pratapgarh, Rajasthan, Saddam Qureshi (27) from Ratlam, Javed alias Rehan (30) from Indore, and Shubham alias Sunny (25) from Palda, were caught with MD drugs, an SUV, and mobile phones, with an estimated value of Rs 20 lakh.
Adil Khan, the primary accused, has links to the notorious Firoz Lala Gang, a drug syndicate from Rajasthan. He was reportedly expanding his distribution network in Indore by recruiting local youths. The police acted on reliable intelligence and apprehended the group before they could execute their drug trafficking plans.
Police investigation revealed that Golu Khan is involved in both farming and drug trafficking, while Saddam Qureshi has a history of criminal activities, including seven cases under the NDPS Act. Javed alias Rehan, a notorious criminal in Indore, has faced serious charges including attempted murder and rape. Both Saddam and Javed had been on the run in other cases but continued their drug trafficking activities with Golu.
The police seized 52 grams of MD drugs, a black SUV, and several mobile phones from the arrested individuals. The gang had been sourcing the drugs from Rajasthan and distributing them in Indore, targeting young students. To avoid suspicion, the traffickers used expensive cars for their operations.
The police operation unfolded near the Gutkeshwar Temple at Kila Maidan when officers noticed a suspicious black SUV. After a brief chase, the police successfully apprehended the suspects. Upon searching the vehicle, the drugs were discovered, leading to the arrests.
The authorities are continuing their investigation, with a focus on identifying other members of the drug syndicate.
