Indiana Man Arrested for Threatening Elon Musk on X (Twitter)

Palmyra, IN — A 28-year-old man from Palmyra, Indiana, was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly posting threats against Elon Musk on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter.

David A. Cherry was taken into custody following an investigation prompted by Texas law enforcement. Authorities in Texas notified Indiana State Police about a user from southern Indiana, later identified as Cherry, who had posted life-threatening statements aimed at the billionaire entrepreneur.

Cherry was charged with felony intimidation after police in southern Indiana located him in Clarksville. Following his arrest, a search of his Palmyra home yielded an AR-15-style rifle, a handgun, ammunition, and a ballistic vest.

Cherry is currently being held at the Harrison County Jail without bond. He faces one count of felony intimidation, a Level 5 felony.
