Grant Saline faces multiple charges after ambulance theft, chase

An Illinois man, 30-year-old Grant Saline, is in custody at the Milam County Jail after being arrested for stealing an ambulance in Cameron, Texas. Saline is facing several charges following the unusual crime that occurred on Monday morning.

According to local dispatch, the incident began when Saline called for an ambulance from a hotel, citing a mental health issue. Once the ambulance arrived at the scene, Saline entered the vehicle and drove off. Deputies tracked the stolen ambulance to the 2200 block of CR203 Loop, where a short off-road chase took place.

The pursuit ended when Saline crashed the ambulance into a tree. He was arrested at the scene by local authorities, who assisted in the chase and capture.

Saline faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer, evading arrest in a vehicle, and criminal mischief. He also faces additional charges from the Cameron Police Department for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and unlawful restraint.

Authorities noted that there is no dash camera or body camera footage available at this time, as the investigation is still ongoing. Further charges may be added as the investigation continues.
