IDBI Bank Branch Manager Anjan Kumar Satpathy Arrested for Embezzling Rs. 1 Crore

In a shocking case of financial fraud, Anjan Kumar Satpathy, the branch manager of IDBI Bank in Nabarangpur, was arrested for embezzling Rs. 1 crore. The fraud came to light after an internal audit revealed a discrepancy in the bank’s accounts.

The incident occurred on December 1st and 2nd, when Satpathy withdrew Rs. 1 crore from the bank locker with the intent to deposit it into the State Bank of India. However, during a routine internal audit conducted on December 15th, the bank discovered the missing amount, prompting an investigation by local police.

Following questioning, Anjan Kumar Satpathy was taken into custody by the Nabarangpur police. According to SDPO Krushnachandra Bhatra, the investigation is ongoing, and further details about the embezzlement are being gathered.
