Hyderabad Task Force Arrests Jamal Momin, Shaik Shahbaz for Drug Trafficking

In a successful joint operation by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (South Zone team) and Moghalpura police, three individuals were arrested for illegal possession of narcotic drugs. Police seized 50 grams of brown heroin, valued at Rs 4 lakh, from the accused.

The arrested men include Jamal Momin (38), a native of West Bengal and the alleged ringleader; Shaik Shahbaz (26), the seller; and Syed Abdul Majeed (32), a consumer. Police say that Jamal Momin, originally a mason who migrated to Hyderabad, took advantage of the high demand for narcotics in the city. He began smuggling brown heroin from his home state of West Bengal, selling it to Shaik Shahbaz at a low rate. Shahbaz, in turn, resold the drug to addicted individuals, making huge illegal profits.

Authorities have emphasized the growing concern over youth and student addiction to drugs, including ganja and heroin, which have led to an increase in crime and antisocial behavior. Hyderabad City Police are urging parents to monitor their children’s activities closely and to educate them about the dangers of drugs.

The accused have been handed over to Moghalpura police for further investigation, and the authorities continue their efforts to combat the rising drug menace in the city.
