In a significant breakthrough, the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force East Zone, in coordination with the Narayanguda police, arrested three notorious criminals involved in murder-for-gain. The three individuals, identified as Molhu Mukhiya alias Manoj (35), a daily wage laborer, Susheel Mukhiya (29), a cook, and Basanthi Arhi (40), a maid, were apprehended after a joint operation. The police recovered stolen property worth over Rs 3 crore.
The crime occurred during the night of February 10-11, when the offenders targeted the home of a wealthy family in the Narayanguda area. They stole diamond jewelry, gold, silver, cash, and foreign currency, all valued at around Rs 2 crore. The offenders specifically targeted affluent households, particularly those from the Marwadi and Jain communities, by infiltrating them as domestic staff.
Once trusted, they planned and executed their thefts. The police revealed that the criminals did not hesitate to use violence if met with resistance and even resorted to murder in some cases to escape with the loot. After committing the crime, the trio tried to flee the city and were caught near Nampally railway station, attempting to board a train to Delhi.
During the investigation, the police found that Manoj Mukhiya, the prime suspect, had previously been involved in another murder-for-gain case in January 2024 in Domalguda. In that case, he, along with other associates, had stolen property worth Rs 1 crore from a woman’s house. Manoj has also been linked to property offenses in Delhi.
Upon further investigation, the police recovered 710 carats of diamond jewelry, 1.420 kg of gold jewelry, 215 grams of silver, Rs 19.6 lakh in cash, and foreign currency from 24 different countries. The total value of the seized goods amounted to Rs 3 crore.
The police have vowed to continue cracking down on such criminal activities and have warned against such targeted crimes on wealthy communities.
