The Kannur Cyber Crime Police have arrested Syed Iqbal Hussain, a 47-year-old resident of Hyderabad, for extorting Rs29.25 lakh from a Kannur native in a fraudulent online share trading scheme. Hussain allegedly reached out to the victim through WhatsApp and lured him into investing in a fake trading app called EltAs Fud. He provided trading instructions via a Telegram group he controlled, convincing the victim to invest substantial amounts under the false promise of high returns. The victim was duped into transferring money, which led to the discovery of the scam.
