Huntsville Woman Arrested for Murder After Fatal Shooting

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A Huntsville woman was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Justice Nicole Shoulders. Huntsville Police found Shoulders dead from a gunshot wound just after 5 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Webster Drive.

Following their investigation, officers learned that Shoulders and 28-year-old Veronica Lashae Ferguson had been arguing when Ferguson allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Shoulders. Ferguson fled the scene before police arrived.

Ferguson was located later that afternoon and arrested for murder. She was booked into the Madison County Jail. During her court appearance for an Aniah’s Law hearing, a judge ruled that Ferguson would be held without bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
