Huntington Police Blotter: Arrests for Larceny and Burglary

The Huntington area has seen a number of incidents between November 18 and November 24, as reported by the Suffolk County Police Department. Below are the notable events, including arrests and criminal activity:

Arrests:

Nov. 21: Tevin Smith, 30, of Queens, was arrested for using someone else’s personal identification to deposit a check belonging to another person into his account. He was charged with third-degree grand larceny (property value exceeding $3,000), second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, and first-degree identity theft.
Nov. 20: Claudio Velazquez, 50, of Huntington Station, was arrested for a burglary that occurred on March 12. He reportedly forced his way into a home in Huntington Station and stole a safe. He was charged with second-degree burglary, which involves illegal entry into a building.
Incidents:

Nov. 19: An identity theft case (first-degree) was reported on Melville Road in Huntington Station. The suspect used the victim’s personal information to take out a loan.
Nov. 19: A grand larceny case (third-degree) was reported on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station. The victim received a phone call from an unknown individual claiming that the resident was behind on their electric bill. It is unclear if the victim provided money to the scammer.
These charges are accusations, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The community is encouraged to report any further information via the Suffolk County Police Department.
