The Hoshiarpur police have made significant progress in their ongoing battle against narcotics and illicit liquor trade with a series of successful raids across the district.
In one of the operations, the Model Town police station arrested two individuals on Wednesday, seizing 27 grams of narcotic powder. The accused, identified as Tasveer Singh from Mohalla Neelkanth and Sanjeev Kumar alias Chibu from Bassi Khwaju, were taken into custody following a tip-off.
In another raid, the Hariana police station targeted Kangmai village, recovering 40 bottles of various types of illicit liquor. The police arrested Akashdeep, a resident of Kangmai, in connection with the illegal liquor recovery.
These raids highlight the efforts of Hoshiarpur police in cracking down on drug trafficking and the illicit liquor trade, continuing to make strides in securing the district from these illegal activities.
