HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – The Hobbs Police Department arrested two men involved in a shooting and robbery that occurred last week. Authorities identified 28-year-old Jesus Rodriguez-Lopez as the shooter who injured a woman near East Skelly St. and South Thorp St. Investigations revealed that Rodriguez-Lopez also threatened a man at gunpoint and stole his vehicle. Police arrested him and his accomplice, 20-year-old Ezekiel Mendoza.

In a separate incident, a man in Santa Fe, New Mexico, learned that his friend’s Chevy Silverado had been stolen and kept an eye out for it. He spotted the truck entering a mobile home park, prompting a call to the police. Officers set up a trap at the exits, deploying Stop Sticks to puncture the truck’s tires.

Despite the suspects’ attempt to flee, they were pursued by Santa Fe Police, with additional assistance from the New Mexico State Police.
