The Kankanady Town Police have arrested Himanish (27), a resident of Ashok Nagar, on charges of consuming banned drugs. In addition to seizing the drugs, the police confiscated assets worth Rs 7.13 lakh, including a car.
On September 3, while conducting routine vehicle checks near Padil Junction, the police stopped a suspicious car driven by Himanish, who had arrived from Kerala. Upon questioning, the driver admitted to consuming narcotics. A search of the car revealed 2.60 grams of narcotics in plastic covers.
The police arrested Himanish and seized both the drugs and the vehicle. The total value of the confiscated assets is estimated at Rs 7.13 lakh, and further investigations are underway.
