Hazhar Soltani Sentenced to Six Months for Propaganda Charges

Hazhar Soltani, a Kurdish man from Bukan, has been sentenced to six months in prison by Iran’s judiciary for charges of “propaganda against the state.”

According to the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Soltani was convicted by Branch 104 of the Bukan Revolutionary Court. His arrest occurred on October 6, 2024, when agents from the Intelligence Ministry detained him without presenting an arrest warrant. After spending eight days in detention, Soltani was granted bail on October 13, 2024, pending the completion of legal proceedings.

As of now, Soltani faces imprisonment as part of the court’s decision regarding the charges against him.
