Haryana police have successfully busted a gang involved in the theft of agricultural equipment across various villages in Kaithal district. The Anti-vehicle theft staff arrested three gang members and recovered a significant amount of stolen items, including two vehicles, a submersible motor fan, a chain pulley, 70 kg of rubber-coated copper wire, 12 broken starters, and other agricultural tools.
This operation has solved 57 theft cases reported in Pundri, Titram, Sadar, Kalayat, and Dhand police station jurisdictions of Kaithal district.
The gang’s activities were first brought to light when Sandeep, a resident of Kailram, filed a complaint on March 9, stating that thieves had broken into his field hut and stolen items such as a starter, 150 feet of wire, a motor fan, and iron pipes.
Based on intelligence, the police arrested the first two accused, Rajpal and Sonu, on March 11 from Khurana Road, Kaithal. They were presented in court on March 12, and the police were granted a three-day remand for further investigation. From their interrogation, the police traced their third accomplice, Roshan, a resident of Faral, who was also arrested.
DSP Sushil Prakash shared that the three accused are brothers. Rajpal and Sonu had been involved in thefts since 2024, and Roshan joined the gang in January 2025. Together, they were responsible for a total of 57 thefts in 18 cases across the district.
Rajpal, who previously worked as a scrap dealer, convinced his brothers that valuable items could be found in farmers’ fields and sold for profit. The brothers would survey the fields during the day and carry out their thefts at night, targeting agricultural equipment for easy resale.
