Hanford, Calif. (FOX26) — Two individuals were taken into custody following a traffic stop in Hanford on Saturday afternoon. The Hanford Police Department reported that 36-year-old Brenda Flores was wanted for her involvement in a check fraud case. The forged check, valued at approximately $1,800, was cashed at a local business and had been issued by a nearby school district.
While investigating the pair, officers discovered that 35-year-old Andrew Median, also of Hanford, had an outstanding arrest warrant from a neighboring county. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities found additional forged checks, along with equipment believed to be used for creating counterfeit credit and access cards.
Furthermore, about 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized from the car. Both Flores and Median were arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail.
Flores faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance with prior drug convictions, possession of drug paraphernalia, smuggling a controlled substance into a custody facility, possession of equipment for making fake access cards, concealing evidence, driving on a suspended license due to a previous DUI, and drug-related offenses.
Median is charged with possession of a controlled substance with prior drug convictions, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of equipment to produce fake access cards, and an arrest warrant from another jurisdiction.
