Habitual Offender Arrested for Laptop Theft in Jayanagar

The Jayanagar police have arrested a 35-year-old habitual offender from Salem, Tamil Nadu, involved in a series of laptop thefts. The police recovered 17 stolen laptops from his residence, with an estimated value of around Rs12 lakh.

The investigation began following a complaint registered on August 31, when a laptop was stolen from a car parked near a hotel in Jayanagar 5th Block. The theft prompted police action, leading to the identification and tracking of the suspect.

On September 12, the police apprehended the accused in Salem and transported him back to the city. He was taken into police custody for nine days and is now remanded in judicial custody. The accused remains unidentified as further investigations continue.
