Gurugram Police Arrest Ritik Chaudhary in Rs 9.11 Crore Fraud

The Gurugram police have arrested Ritik Chaudhary, a man accused of defrauding hundreds of individuals across India of over Rs 9.11 crore through task-based fraud schemes. Chaudhary, a resident of Saraswati Nagar in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was taken into custody on July 19 in Gurugram. The arrest followed an investigation led by the Cyber Crime team.

Priyanshu Dewan, ACP of Cyber Crime in Gurugram, confirmed that Chaudhary’s fraud operations spanned the entire country. The accused had been involved in duping people by getting them to participate in fake online tasks that promised monetary rewards but led to losses instead.

After reviewing Chaudhary’s mobile phone and SIM card, as well as analyzing data from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), it was revealed that the fraud amounted to Rs 9.11 crore. Investigators found that a total of 2,470 complaints and 75 cases had been registered against Chaudhary, including two cases in Haryana, one of which was in Gurugram.

The police have now secured the evidence and are investigating the full extent of Chaudhary’s nationwide scam.
