Gurugram Police Arrest Four for Attempted Robbery and Uncover 16 Theft Cases

A crime branch team from the Gurugram police successfully arrested four individuals accused of attempting to rob passers-by at gunpoint using illegal weapons, police reported on Sunday. Alongside the arrests, authorities claimed to have solved 16 cases of theft and Arms Act violations, which were reportedly committed by the suspects in Gurugram.

The arrest occurred after the Crime Branch Sector-43 received a tip-off about four individuals armed with guns attempting to rob people on the Ghata-Faridabad Road. Acting swiftly on the information, a special police team was dispatched to the location and apprehended the suspects at the scene.

The arrested individuals were identified as Sonu alias Chidimar from Delhi, Astonish alias Lablu, Ravi Prakash alias Chota Bhola, and Jeetu alias Pubji, all residents of Gurugram. Police recovered a pistol with a live cartridge, an iron rod, and a torch from the suspects’ possession.

A case has been registered under the relevant sections at Sector-56 Police Station. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in 16 previous thefts in Gurugram. Police records revealed that Sonu had been implicated in seven criminal cases, including theft, the Gambling Act, and the Arms Act; Astonish faced three theft charges; and Ravi Prakash had six theft-related cases against him.

The arrested suspects are expected to be produced in court for further legal proceedings, with an ongoing investigation into their criminal activities.
