Fargo Man Arrested After Leading Police on High-Speed Chase

RICHLAND COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A 40-year-old Fargo man, Gregory Richards, was arrested early Friday morning after leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase across state lines.

Richards faces multiple charges, including fleeing from law enforcement, driving under the influence (DUI), driving with a suspended license, and reckless endangerment.

The pursuit began just after midnight when a deputy from Roberts County, South Dakota, initiated a chase along I-29, which continued into Richland County, North Dakota. The North Dakota Highway Patrol later took over the pursuit.

Authorities deployed a spike strip, which deflated Richards’ tires. The pursuit ended when a trooper used a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver to force Richards’ vehicle into the median.

Richards’ passenger, a woman, was not arrested and was safely transported to a residence in Fargo.

Richards remains in custody at the Richland County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
