Goa Police Arrest Shivam Patil for Stealing iPhone Worth Rs 1.34 Lakh

A 28-year-old man, Shivam Patil, was arrested by Goa police for allegedly stealing an iPhone worth Rs 1.34 lakh from the purse of a 34-year-old Russian national at a restaurant in Morjim. The incident occurred when the victim was dining at the restaurant, and Patil reportedly took the phone from her purse without her noticing.

Patil, a resident of Zuari Complex, Baina, Vasco, was previously arrested in November 2024 in connection with a cash-for-government job scam. His criminal history was revealed during the ongoing investigation into the theft.

The police have charged Patil with theft, and further investigations are underway. The stolen iPhone has not yet been recovered.
