Glen Halkett Arrested After Escape from Saskatchewan Penitentiary

Glen Halkett, who escaped from Prince Albert Penitentiary nearly three weeks ago, was arrested by RCMP in the Rosthern, Sask., area. Officers spotted Halkett in a vehicle with three others and attempted to flee, but police stopped the car before it could leave a parking lot.

Halkett, who had been serving a nearly three-year sentence for break and enter and vehicle theft, now faces additional charges for his escape, flight from a police officer, dangerous driving, and being unlawfully at large. Police also discovered drugs, including cocaine, meth, cannabis, and cash during his arrest, leading to charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The two men and one woman in the vehicle were also arrested and are facing charges related to drug trafficking and other offences.
