In a swift operation, Begumpet police arrested a former private firm employee for stealing Rs46 lakh from the godown of Sun Steels Private Limited, located at Patigadda. Impressively, the entire stolen amount was recovered within six hours of the complaint being filed.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) S. Rashmi Perumal confirmed that the burglary occurred during the night of June 20–21.
The accused, 28-year-old Giridhari Singh from Pureli village in Sarai, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly broke into the godown by accessing it through a gap in the roof. Once inside, he forced open a locker in the office cabin to steal the cash.
The prompt police response and tracking efforts led to Singh’s arrest, and the full Rs46 lakh was recovered in a matter of hours.
Authorities lauded the Begumpet team for their swift action and warned businesses to ensure proper security, especially for cash storage.
