A German man accused of assaulting multiple dentists in Nakhon Ratchasima has been arrested. Police apprehended 41-year-old Matthias Ebner in the car park of a shopping mall on Tuesday afternoon.
Ebner, who was reportedly found sitting on the back of his green Ford Ranger pickup truck, had fled his residence upon learning that an arrest warrant had been issued for him. He now faces charges of trespassing, assault, and property damage. Authorities also plan to request the cancellation of his visa through the Nakhon Ratchasima Immigration Office, deeming him a danger to the public.
According to his Thai wife, Ebner suffers from a mental illness but does not take medication for his condition. The first complaint against Ebner was filed on November 30 by a female dentist, who accused him of assaulting her after he forcibly punched through a door to gain access to her clinic room.
Over the course of three-and-a-half months, additional complaints from other dentists followed, with allegations of similar attacks. Ebner’s alleged assaults have caused growing concern among the local community, prompting law enforcement to take swift action.
