George Montoya Arrested for Burglary and Credit Card Fraud in Santa Fe

Santa Fe police have arrested 50-year-old George Montoya, who they describe as a “prolific burglar.” Montoya was apprehended after officers responded to a suspicious person call near West Cordova Road on Saturday. Montoya, who had an outstanding warrant for burglary and credit card fraud, attempted to flee the scene but was found hiding in a crawl space between two businesses.

Earlier that day, Montoya reportedly stole a wallet from a local Trader Joe’s. His criminal record, which dates back to 1992, includes aggravated burglary, stalking, fraud, and identity theft. Montoya now faces additional charges following his latest arrest.
