George Hughley Arrested on Drug Charges in Beauregard, Ala.

A Lee County man, George Willie Hughley, has been arrested on multiple drug charges after a search at his home uncovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and other illegal substances.

On January 3, 2025, at 5:00 a.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Investigators F.A.S.T. unit, supported by the Lee County SWAT team and DEA agents, executed a search warrant at Hughley’s residence located on the 800 block of Lee Road 30 in Beauregard. The search led to the discovery of 546 grams of marijuana, 44 grams of methamphetamine, illegal prescription medications, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. Hughley was not at the residence during the search.

Four days later, on January 7, Hughley voluntarily surrendered to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested and charged with several offenses, including:

Trafficking in Methamphetamine
Possession of a Prescription Drug Without a Prescription
Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Hughley is currently being held in the Lee County Jail with a bond set at $55,000. Investigators suggest that additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
