Gayatri Hatekar Arrested for Stealing Rs8.70 Lakh Gold Jewelry

Pune’s Bibwewadi police arrested 24-year-old Gayatri Sunil Hatekar, a caretaker, for stealing gold jewelry worth Rs8.70 lakh from a bungalow where she was employed to look after an elderly woman.

The theft took place between September and November at a house near Mahesh Society in Bibwewadi, where the elderly woman resides. The caretaker, entrusted with the responsibility of attending to the woman, reportedly took advantage of the situation and stole 25 tolas (146 grams) of gold jewelry during this period.

After the theft was discovered, a complaint was filed, leading to an investigation. Police apprehended Hatekar and recovered the stolen gold from her possession.
