Gandhinagar Police Arrest Two in Shocking Village Sale Scam

The Gandhinagar Local Crime Branch (LCB) has arrested two individuals, Vinod and Jayendra Jhala, in connection with the illegal sale of Juna Pahadia village in Dehgam taluka.

The case came to light on July 13 when it was revealed that land brokers had colluded with landowners to create a fraudulent sale document, using false evidence. Following a complaint, the LCB launched an investigation, resulting in the arrests of the two men.

Divansinh Vala from the LCB stated, “The two accused have been arrested, and we will seek their remand in court. Additionally, five other suspects are currently absconding.”

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) S.M. Chaudhary explained that the initial complaint was filed at the Rakhial police station in Ahmedabad regarding the illegal sale of land covering Juna Pahadia village through the Sub Registrar of Dehgam.

“Fake photos of the land were provided by both the heir and the buyer, who conspired to finalize the sale. Vinod and Jayendra Jhala, among the sellers, have now been apprehended,” added Chaudhary.

According to the DySP, the two accused are heirs to the names listed in the village land survey numbers. They had sold the land, which had originally been purchased by the villagers, for their own financial gain.
