Ganderbal Police Arrest Five in Gold Theft Case, Recover Stolen Goods

The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ganderbal successfully solved a theft case by arresting five suspects and recovering stolen gold worth Rs 5,50,588. The stolen items included three gold pounds, eight rings, two pairs of earrings, a pair of jhumkas, and a gold chain. Additionally, an Alto car, used in the crime, was seized.

The case was registered under FIR No. 42/2024 after Abdul Rehman Shah, a resident of Check Yangoora, filed a complaint at Police Station Lar. Shah reported that, during the night of September 11-12, 2024, unknown thieves broke into his house and stole gold and cash.

Following an intensive investigation, police identified and questioned multiple suspects. The individuals arrested in connection with the crime are Imtiyaz Ahmad Gooru from Authkhroo Rabitar (currently residing in Parimpora), Hilal Ahmad Dar from Gund Roshan Rabitar, Adil Ahmad Sofi from Gund Roshan Rabitar, Javid Ahmad Mir from Guzhama Ganderbal, and Lateef Ahmad Dar from Wangipora Sumbal. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the theft and admitted to committing several similar crimes across the valley.
