Gainesville Man Facing 14 Felony Charges After Drug & Burglary Investigation

20-Year-Old Gainesville Man Arrested on 14 Felony Charges for Drug Sales and Burglary

A 20-year-old Gainesville man, Burnell Gavin McCormick, has been arrested on 14 felony charges following a drug and burglary investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. McCormick allegedly sold illicit drugs, including THC oil, DMT, cocaine, and marijuana, on six occasions between July of last year and January. Authorities claim McCormick conducted these sales in the parking lots of two businesses on McEver Road, often armed with a handgun.

In addition to the drug charges, McCormick is also facing charges related to a burglary. On January 9, he reportedly entered a residence on Shawnee Drive, rummaged through rooms, and then left the property.

McCormick was arrested at his residence on Lake Forest Drive on Thursday. The charges against him include:

First-degree burglary (Felony)
Two counts of selling cocaine (Felony)
Sale of a Schedule I drug (Felony)
Sale of THC oil (Felony)
Two counts of selling marijuana (Felony)
Five counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (Felony)
Use of communication facility to facilitate drug transactions (Felony)
Possession of THC oil (Felony)
Theft by receiving (Misdemeanor)
He is currently being held without bond, and the investigation is ongoing.
