WILMINGTON, DE — Gabriel Rosario, a 30-year-old man from Pennsylvania, has been apprehended on multiple charges of sexual assault following a year-long investigation by the New Castle County Division of Police.
Rosario is accused of offenses involving a minor that began in April 2023. Authorities allege that Rosario, who was known to the victim, created a fake social media account to initiate contact with them. He is then said to have coerced the victim into sending explicit photos, later using threats to pressure the victim into engaging in sexual acts.
The investigation, which began in January 2024 in the Edgemoor Gardens community, culminated in Rosario’s arrest on February 13, 2025. Detectives, assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police and U.S. Marshals Service, located him in Landisville, Pennsylvania. He was arrested on an out-of-state fugitive warrant.
Rosario is facing a slew of charges in Delaware, including:
Six counts of Sexual Extortion
Five counts of Dangerous Crimes Against a Minor under 14
Five counts of Rape in the First Degree
Five counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child by a Person of Trust in the First Degree
Four counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact in the Second Degree
One count of Rape in the Second Degree
Following his arraignment in Pennsylvania, Rosario was remanded to Lancaster County Prison, with bail set at $500,000.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information or knowledge of other victims to contact Detective Watson at (302) 395-8030 or via email at Daniel.Watson@newcastlede.gov.
Please note that the charges against Rosario are allegations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
