Fraudster Mohammad Sameer Arrested for Rs89 Lakh Investment Scam

A 33-year-old financial fraudster, Mohammad Sameer Sarfaraz, was apprehended by the Rajkot Crime Branch after evading authorities for three months. Sameer allegedly scammed investors out of Rs89 lakh through fraudulent investment schemes he ran in Surat and Rajkot.

Sameer operated a finance firm named “Sameer Capital,” with offices in both Rajkot and Surat. Investors were lured into depositing a total of ₹89 lakh, promised lucrative returns. However, Sameer failed to honor the agreements, leading to complaints from investors at Surat’s Vesu Police Station.

After months of investigation, police received a tip-off about Sameer’s whereabouts near Sheetal Park on the 150-Foot Ring Road in Rajkot. They managed to arrest him before he could flee to Haryana, his home state. Surat police have been notified, and legal procedures are currently underway.

This case serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of verifying investment opportunities and highlights the need for stronger financial oversight and regulations to prevent such fraudulent activities.
