Francisco Garcia-Franco Arrested in Albuquerque Murder Case

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Francisco Garcia-Franco, 33, has been arrested in El Paso, Texas, as the second suspect in the murder of Steven Keliiaa in northeast Albuquerque on December 23, 2024. The arrest occurred over the weekend, nearly three weeks after police initially arrested the first suspect, Javier Irigoyen, on January 2, 2025.

Authorities had considered Garcia-Franco to be armed and dangerous, and they had been actively searching for him after the deadly shooting at the intersection of Dallas and Menaul.

Both Garcia-Franco and Irigoyen are accused of shooting and killing Keliiaa. The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crime.

Suspects in Custody, Investigation Ongoing

The investigation remains ongoing, and APD is working to gather more information related to the shooting. Both suspects are facing charges related to the murder, and Garcia-Franco is currently awaiting extradition from Texas to New Mexico.
