Four Teens Arrested in Kyle After Being Found in Stolen Car

KYLE, Texas – Four teenagers were detained early Monday morning in Kyle after police discovered they were traveling in a stolen vehicle.

The Kyle Police Department was alerted by the Austin Police Department that the owner of the stolen vehicle had tracked it to a gas station in Kyle. Officers quickly responded to the scene, where they located the vehicle. Upon being spotted, the vehicle attempted to flee but lost control and eventually came to a stop.

The four teens were detained at the scene, including a 14-year-old male driver, two 15-year-old females, and 17-year-old Edwin Serna, who is from Kyle. The driver was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, evading arrest in a vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and engaging in organized criminal activity. Serna was charged with organized criminal activity and had warrants for other vehicle burglaries.

Kyle police did not provide details regarding whether the two 15-year-olds would face charges or comment on the specifics of the other vehicle burglaries tied to Serna.

“We take these incidents very seriously, especially when underaged and inexperienced drivers are involved. Their actions not only put other people’s property at risk but also endanger the safety of everyone on the road. Our officers responded quickly to ensure the suspects were apprehended safely and without further incident,” said Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett.

Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant by locking their vehicles and removing valuables to prevent further vehicle burglaries in the area.
