LOS ANGELES – Four suspects were arrested on October 16 in connection with a series of crimes across the San Fernando Valley, including destructive ATM thefts, kidnapping, carjacking, and burglary, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
The suspects, identified as Anthony Cacho (22), Stephany Gonzalez-Jimenez (24), Richard Nevarez (24), all from Los Angeles, and Luis Angel Rodriguez-Arroyo (40) from Santa Clarita, are allegedly linked to at least eight ATM burglaries, two robberies, and multiple kidnapping and carjacking incidents between August 16 and October 16.
Surveillance footage captured the suspects breaking into businesses, chaining ATMs to SUVs, and dragging them out to steal cash. The emptied machines were later abandoned. Police tracked down the suspects, arresting them in Sylmar and Canyon Country after search warrants were issued.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has charged:
- Cacho with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary and one count of possessing an unregistered assault weapon.
- Rodriguez-Arroyo with carjacking and five counts of commercial burglary, held on a $100,000 bail.
- Gonzalez-Jimenez with commercial burglary.
- Nevarez for robbery, with additional charges pending.
“These criminals operated with alarming boldness,” LAPD stated at a press conference, noting the extensive damage left behind. The case remains under investigation, and further arrests are possible.
