Four Nepal Nationals Arrested in Rs4.5 Lakh Theft from Noida Paint Shop

Four Nepal-based men were arrested on Monday for their involvement in a Rs4.5 lakh theft from a paint shop in Sector 11, Noida, which occurred on January 9. The accused were identified as Jahar Singh (33), Deepak Giri (42), Jarendra (42), and Vinod Thapa (38). Police said the suspects had been residing in Noida for the past six months.

According to the complaint filed by Rajkumar Mittal (45), the shop owner, he discovered the theft when he found the rear shutter of his shop broken on January 10. Upon inspecting the cupboard, he realized that Rs4.5 lakh in cash was missing.

The police registered a case of theft under Section 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and began their investigation. The suspects were apprehended in Sector 57, Noida, after it was revealed that they had been working as daily wagers in local restaurants. They had carried out a reconnaissance of the shop before executing the burglary.

The stolen money was transferred to Nepal with the help of their relatives, and it was discovered that the funds had been deposited into a Nepal-based bank. Authorities have initiated steps to recover the money.

In addition to recovering the stolen cash, the police also seized a motorcycle, two countrymade pistols, two knives, and Rs40,000 from the suspects. Jahar Singh, the alleged mastermind of the gang, was previously booked for theft at Prasad Nagar Police Station in Delhi.
