Four Drug Smugglers, Including Woman, Arrested in Heroin Case

In a significant operation, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested four individuals, including a woman, involved in drug trafficking. The accused were found with 354 grams of heroin and Rs35,500 in drug money. Two of the suspects have prior criminal records, according to the authorities.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Vishal Sharma (30), Natasha (24), Harmandeep Singh (20), and Nikhil Nayyar (38), all residents of Nangal in Ropar district. A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the anti-narcotics police station.

The arrests were made following a tip-off that led to the capture of Vishal Sharma and Natasha at the Dappar toll plaza in Derabassi. During their interrogation, Vishal confessed to dealing in heroin through Nikhil Nayyar. The team subsequently arrested Nayyar, who revealed that he had deposited the drug money into Harmandeep Singh’s account. This led to the final arrest of Harmandeep Singh.

The suspects were brought before the court on Friday and remanded to police custody for further investigation. The operation highlights the continued efforts of ANTF in curbing drug trafficking in the region.
