Four Charged in Somers Point Robbery of 83-Year-Old Woman

Four people, including a juvenile from Egg Harbor Township, have been charged in connection with the robbery of an 83-year-old woman outside the Acme supermarket in Somers Point. The incident, which occurred last Thursday, involved a brutal attack that left the victim with severe facial injuries after she was knocked to the ground during the theft of her purse.

Somers Point police worked diligently to identify the suspects, conducting warranted searches of homes and a vehicle in Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Township.

A 15-year-old boy from Egg Harbor Township has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and theft. He is currently held at the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.

Additionally, three other individuals face charges related to the crime. Maria DeSantis, 60, of Woodbine, along with Charles Oglesby Jr., 23, and Emily Labaco, 22, both from Atlantic City, are charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit theft, employing a juvenile to commit a crime, and receiving stolen property. Oglesby also faces a charge of possession of a defaced firearm.

The three adults are being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility, with detention hearings scheduled for Wednesday.
