BOSTON, MA — Four Brockton men have been charged in connection with a shootout that occurred in June 2024, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts on February 14, 2025.
Natalio Miranda (33), Jonathan Alves (28), Romeo Miller (26), and Jahleil Monteiro (25) were all charged in U.S. District Court in Boston. The charges include possession of a machine gun, felon in possession of ammunition, and accessory after the fact, among others.
According to court filings, on June 2, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m., law enforcement responded to a shot fired call at a residence in Brockton. Upon arrival, they found a 31-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her chest. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital and survived the injury.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows Miranda firing multiple bursts from an automatic weapon while Miller and Alves also discharged firearms. The video reportedly shows Miller hiding behind a parked car before shooting the victim and later passing his firearm to Monteiro, who allegedly assisted them in fleeing the scene.
At the time of the shooting, Miranda was on federal supervised release following a fentanyl distribution conviction. Miller and Monteiro were both on probation for previous convictions related to firearms, assault, and drugs, while Alves had prior convictions for drug distribution.
The investigation continues, and law enforcement authorities have emphasized the ongoing nature of the case as they move forward with these serious charges.
