A joint investigation by the Moore County Sheriff’s Department and Moore County Probation and Parole has led to the arrest of four individuals on drug-related charges.
On July 11, 2024, detectives collaborated with probation officers to conduct searches at multiple residences across the county, resulting in several arrests in the Southern Pines, Carthage, and Robbins areas.
Arrestees and Charges:
- Ronald Barnes, 36, of Southern Pines: Charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
- James Stone, 53, of Carthage: Charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- William Brown, 25, of Robbins: Charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Amber Garner, 33, of Carthage: Charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Barnes and Stone are being held at the Moore County Detention Center with secured bonds set at $55,000 each. Brown’s bond is set at $7,500, while Garner is currently on a 48-hour hold.
Both Barnes and Brown have previous drug-related arrests, with Barnes having been in trouble as recently as 2018 and Brown facing charges in 2022.
All four suspects are scheduled to appear in court on August 8 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
