Four Arrested in Kochi Drug Raids, MDMA Worth Rs15 Lakh Seized

In a significant drug bust, Kochi City police arrested four individuals, including a woman, in two separate raids. The raids, carried out by the Mattancherry police and the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF), led to the seizure of nearly 330 grams of suspected MDMA valued at over Rs15 lakh, along with Rs3 lakh in Omani currency, 6.80 grams of ganja, 4.64 grams of hybrid ganja, and 9.41 grams of hashish oil.

The arrests were made after a tip-off regarding drug trafficking activities. The suspects, Ayesha Gafar (39) from Pune and Rifas Rafeek (27) from Mattancherry, were detained during a raid at a hotel in Mattancherry. Investigations suggest the duo had been operating out of various hotels in Kochi, involved in selling illegal drugs.

Police continue to investigate their connections to larger narcotics networks operating in the region.
