Four individuals have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that took place at Bluestem Lake in Osage County, near Pawhuska, over the weekend. Local authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information, noting that more arrests may follow.
The Osage County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the shooting occurred during a birthday party. Sheriff Bart Perrier stated that deputies have been interviewing a large number of witnesses, with estimates suggesting up to 40 people were present at the scene.
“We are currently interviewing around 20 to 30 witnesses, and possibly as many as 40. Our goal is to account for all the eyewitnesses to the incident,” said Sheriff Perrier. According to witness statements, Caleb Andrews was identified as the individual who assaulted the victim before shooting him.
In addition to Andrews, three other suspects—Allen Brown, Charli Alexander, and Owen Ewing—have been taken into custody on charges of accessory to murder. Sheriff Perrier explained that the violence erupted after a group of people, who may not have been invited to the party, showed up unexpectedly.
“Situations like this are unpredictable. No one expects a party to end in something like this,” Perrier remarked. “Sadly, we’re living in difficult times, and this is a very tragic event.”
Authorities have made it clear that the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests could be made. “In the last 24 hours, we’ve conducted several interviews, and we’ll continue doing so over the next few days. There are many local witnesses, and we’re piecing together the details,” said Perrier.
