Four men were arrested in Katni with electric items valued at Rs20 lakh, according to police reports on Saturday. The goods, originally worth around Rs40 lakh, were loaded from a factory in the Sanwer Road area and were intended for delivery in Satna and Damoh. However, the driver and cleaner sold the items at a discounted price to the arrested individuals.
Siyaram Singh Gurjar, in charge of Banganga police station, informed Free Press that the driver and cleaner loaded the electric items on October 5. After the goods failed to arrive at their designated locations, the factory owner attempted to contact the driver and cleaner and ultimately filed a police complaint.
The investigation involved examining CCTV footage from numerous toll plazas, leading the police to Katni. The stolen goods were recovered from a godown in the Madhav Nagar area. The four arrested suspects were identified as Mohsin, Ajeesh, Prashant, and Shubham.
As of the report, the driver and cleaner remain at large. The arrested suspects revealed that the driver and cleaner had contacted Prashant, a resident of Singrauli, who then helped facilitate the sale of the stolen items to the others involved. Approximately Rs20 lakh worth of goods are still unaccounted for, and the police continue their search for the missing items and the individuals responsible.
