Four Arrested for Stealing Railway Property in Cuttack

RPF Raids Result in Arrest of Four Offenders for Theft

In a significant achievement, the Cuttack unit of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended four individuals last night on charges of stealing valuable railway property. The operation was part of routine night checks conducted by the RPF to prevent crimes targeting railway materials and passengers.

During the operation, the RPF team received information about some outsiders attempting to steal railway goods from a store located near the OMP Fly Over Bridge Railway colony in Cuttack. Acting promptly, the team raided the store and arrested four individuals, recovering several stolen railway materials.

Upon interrogation, the suspects admitted their involvement in the theft and revealed that they had entered the railway store with the intent of stealing the materials found during the raid. As a result, a case has been filed against them under Section 3(a) of the Railway Properties (Unlawful Possession) Act, with the case registered as No. 15/2024, dated 18.10.2024. The arrested individuals were presented before the court.

The offenders have been identified as Bholanath Rout of Kaimati village, Dhenkanal, currently residing in Balisahi, Cuttack; Deepak Muduli of Uttara Balakati, Khurda, now living in Gadu Mulia, Puri Ghat, Cuttack; Bhalu Das from CDA-13 area, Cuttack; and Alekha Naik from Kankinali, Angul district, residing at Gol Bazar, Cuttack.
