TANJUNG SELOR – Bulungan Police have arrested four men for stealing cattle from a resident’s farm in Long Tungu Village, Peso Hilir District. The suspects were caught after attempting to sell butchered cows at the Tanjung Selor Main Market.
Bulungan Police Chief Kombes Rofiko Yunianto, through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Irwan, confirmed that the arrests were made following a tip-off from local meat traders who were approached by four men offering freshly cut beef.

All are residents of Bhayangkara, Long Beluah Village, West Tanjung Palas District.
Authorities discovered the crime after a resident, EJ, reported his missing bull. Bloodstains were found in his cattle pen, and the surrounding wire fence was damaged, indicating forced entry.
How the Theft Unfolded
According to police, the suspects shot the cow with a firearm before butchering it on-site and selling the meat. The perpetrators initially claimed they mistook the cow for a wild deer while hunting at night.

Legal Consequences
The stolen cattle were valued at Rp. 25 million, and the suspects have been charged under Article 363 paragraph (1) to 1 and 4 of the Criminal Code, carrying a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to prevent further incidents of livestock theft in the region.
