Former Resident Amber Rich Arrested in Oxford Burglary Case

A former resident has been arrested in connection with a burglary reported on Cedarcrest Drive in Oxford in September 2024.

The Oxford Police Department responded to the incident on September 24, 2024, after receiving a report of a break-in. Investigators determined that the suspect, 24-year-old Amber Rich from Enid, Mississippi, had broken into the home and stolen several items. Rich, a former resident of the property, was identified as the suspect.

After a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Rich on the charge of Burglary of a Dwelling. On December 18, 2024, Rich was apprehended by the Panola County Sheriff’s Department during a traffic safety checkpoint. She was later transported to the county line, where Oxford Police officers took her into custody.

Rich appeared before a Municipal Court judge for her bond hearing. The Oxford Police Department expressed its gratitude to the Panola County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in making the arrest.
