Former Probation Officer Lee Sentenced for Embezzling Court Fines

The Mississippi State Auditor’s office announced that former probation officer Lee has been sentenced for embezzling court-ordered fines and fees from individuals on probation. Lee was found to have pocketed money intended for the court system.

Lee was sentenced to 20 years, with 17 years suspended, leaving three years to serve, along with five years of post-release supervision. In addition to the prison sentence, Lee was ordered to pay $4,313.75 in restitution, $3,000 in fines, and $400 to the victim’s compensation fund.

State Auditor Shad White praised the team’s efforts, emphasizing that the office has recovered more money in the past six years than ever before in its history. The investigation and subsequent sentencing reflect the commitment of the State Auditor’s office to ensure accountability and transparency in public office.
