A former Oklahoma state representative from Sulphur has been arrested on charges of embezzlement after allegedly stealing over $35,000 from the Murray County Junior Livestock Association.
Calvin ‘Wes’ Hilliard, 51, is accused of cashing checks totaling more than $35,000 between January and December of 2024. Court documents reveal that Hilliard deposited the checks into his own account with forged signatures, leading to charges of embezzlement and uttering forged instruments.
Hilliard was arrested and booked into the Murray County Jail but has since posted bond and been released.
The case has raised concerns about financial misconduct within local organizations, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
