Former DYFI Leader Sachita Rai Arrested in Job Scam

Kasaragod police have arrested former Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) leader Sachita Rai, 27, in connection with a job scam involving multiple extortion cases.

Rai, accused of defrauding individuals by promising them government jobs, was taken into custody on Thursday evening while parked outside the district court in Vidyanagar. At the time of her arrest, she was accompanied by her two-month-old child. Following her arrest, she was remanded to judicial custody for two weeks by the Kasaragod Judicial Magistrate.

Due to limited facilities for her infant at the Kanhangad sub-jail, Ms. Rai was transferred to Kannur Central Jail. Previously, her anticipatory bail plea had been rejected by the district court, leading to her current detention.
